Somewhat based on C.S Friedman's character Gerald Tarrant from her awesome Coldfire Trilogy. Only the third books cover portrays him as he is. The first two make him look too bulky.
I agree with your comment on the covers of the first two. He's suppose to be smaller in build, and delicate. Although it seems to me a majority of covers for fantasy/Sci-fi books are bloody horrible.
Actually, I think the second book is supposed to be the Undying Prince (if we are referring the the horrible purple-pinkish cover art). At least, I always assumed so because I cannot imagine Tarrant posing between chalk-white man-eating trees.
I was hurting my brain trying to remember where that quote was from. I have heard it before, but where oh where - indeed, 't was the Fountain.
Lovely picture! I like his nose. Don't know why. But his nose is very Geraldish. Also: blue! Blue always works
*headscratch* That's possible, but it doesn't seem right for continuity... The first cover is totally him, as is the last cover. Either way, the first and second book covers make my eyes sad. Also, I think he totally would pose with those trees if they offered to buy him dinner first.
Totally The Fountain The soundtrack reminded me a lot of the books. Had to do it.
Thankee! I like his nose, too. At some point I'll make him clothed. And NOT put him in something gawd-awful gaudy like the covers >.<
You should see the second cover for the Dutch translations. You think the American one is saddening? True, but take a look at this: [link] I always wondered who those people were, and what they are doing up in the mountains... (or rather: what is Damien doing without pants?)
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
